BORN AGAIN (Poem 1)

We were born into sin,

Jesus was born to become sin.

We were born into slavery,

Jesus was born to become a slave.

We were born needing to be served,

Jesus was born to become a servant.

We were born to live in chains,

Jesus was born to become the chain breaker.

We were born to bring hell on earth,

Jesus was born to become heaven on earth.

We were born to become selfish,

Jesus was born to become selfless.

We were born to sacrifice nothing,

Jesus was born to sacrifice everything.

We were born believing we were good,

Jesus was born believing only God was good.

We were born to become pride,

Jesus was born to become humility.

We were born to become death,

Jesus was born to become life.

Jesus was born,

so we could be Born Again!

DEAD TO MYSELF (Poem 2)

I used to think that dying was a process, then I realized I was dead.  After all, when you’re dead-you’re dead!

I used to think that I was called to die to myself, and I am. But I thought death was a process, and it is, but it isn’t.

I used to think that I died one area at a time, until I realized by the grace of God, that when Jesus died I was dead, the instant I believed He died for me

I used to think that it all happened step by step and it does, but then my eyes opened and it all became clear, that His blood had broken the power of every fear.

I used to think that the responsibility to die was on my shoulders, I now see that this was a lie, and it was because He lived that I could die.

Now I believe His death is alive in me. Oh death where is your victory? Oh death where is your sting?

The questions have been answered, the verdict is the thing, it is my Lord’s plan that in Christ I find my wing.

In Christ I fly high and my efforts don’t determine how I die.  Jesus’ blood is all I need. It’s the most He could give to die and to bleed.

He has risen from the dead and in Christ so have I.
