Dearest Family,
"Faith is conduct inspired by obedience." When we are born again and become new creations in that eternal moment, it is as if a new nation had conquered our territory. We would be required to learn a new language, new customs and an entirely new way of living in order to survive. Jesus has conquered death, hell and sin. “For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”
Romans 6:14 NASB
He has once again invaded His world, but this time as the Lamb of God, bringing a fresh dimension of heaven to earth. This Divine life in Christ Jesus could not be more different than the old sin life. And the revelation of this new life is recognized in an unmistakable ambition to be pleasing to God. “Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.”
2 Corinthians 5:9 NASB
We live out that ambition each day by loving Abba first in everything, as we walk in loving supernatural relationship with Him, or righteousness. When Jesus is truly number One, righteousness becomes the scepter, or symbol of all our authority. “But of the Son He says, "YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM. (The scepter in Roman times was the visible symbol of authority that the generals would carry into battle to prove they represented Caesar and carried all the power of Rome.)
YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS; THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE YOUR COMPANIONS."
Hebrews 1:8-9 NASB
Although Jesus was the most misunderstood man who ever lived He was still the most joy-filled, because His entire identity was found in knowing His Abba. He needed no other relationship to determine His value. He never looked to man for what only His Father could provide.
So may supernatural obedience inform our conduct, and may Abba breathe Zoe life into our faith as we overcome the world in Jesus' name. “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith.”
1 John 5:2-4 NASB
Love,
