Some updates from the front lines of ministry to share here -
Pastor Rex was asked to be a guest speaker for an international men’s group. It is a secular group and this is the first time they have ever had a Christian leader speak on the call. They specialize in men, all over the world, who have gotten divorced and have ex-wives who are using their children against them as a bludgeon. The discussed topic was forgiveness.
Pastor Rex toured Rikers with a congressperson from the 18th district. Pray for hearts to open, and opportunities to come from walking through the women’s jail. We are looking into Christian programming possibilities there.
Pastor Rex met with another Christian organization to potentially take over their prison ministry at Sing Sing. They have the longest running ministry in that prison — Over 100 years! It would be so much work. Please pray for wisdom.
Pastor Rex will be running the Holy Spirit night for Trinity Harlem every two months. In the spring of this year, he preached again. The Holy Spirit was so merciful and all 15 folks who needed Jesus to baptize them in the Holy Ghost were touched by God and given spiritual languages. Other gifts like prophecy and words of knowledge were also moving. It was both humbling and exciting all at once.
PITW celebrates over 150 weeks of Monday reentry calls for the reentry ministry, Victorious Brothethood. So many of our men have become powerful leaders over this time frame. One shared how Abba healed him of cancer the week prior as a result of our prayers and God’s providence. We are just filled with joy!
All the other counseling and discipleship training Pastor Rex is doing during each week is also bearing much fruit.
