How fortunate we are as believers in JESUS that we can actually be used as ABBA’s hands and feet. Here is a brief highlight from this past Wednesday on Riker’s:
Currently there is still no other Christian ministry allowed on the island. Go JESUS!I sense that this time around 80-85% of our efforts will be spent on reaching and ministering to the population of Correction Officers and the balance of our time will spill over into the lives of the residents. I arrived at 12:30 for the roll call to such a warm reception from all the CO’s and Captain Spry who heads this division. Please pray for Captain Spry and her son and daughter, because God has used her to open this door, and as a result she will be under more spiritual attack than normal. Thanks very much! She is a mighty woman of God with a powerful gift of tongues. Cap addressed her troops for 5 minutes and turned it over to me for 20 minutes. I preached a 15 minute gospel message and then took an alter call. Of the approximately 35 in attendance I believe 33 raised hands in a response, some rededicating their lives and others making a first time decision. I remained there for another 6 hours ministering to many of the COs individually. Pointing some to specific areas in scripture that would meet their individual needs. During that time one fight almost broke out however, the enemies fire was quenched by spiritual prayer. In another instant Cap and I were praying in spiritual languages, when finished, a young lady standing just outside the door was weeping with tears of joy. She exclaimed that she had basically received an interpretation and had been crying out for God to speak to her and this was the refreshing her soul needed. Hallelujah! Ha! What a moment! Incredibly humbling. We were speechless. Finally, we talked about me becoming their official pastor. How exciting!
What a day! Preparing to go back this Wed for the 12:30 roll call. This will be the norm until it’s not. Just got off the phone with a mentor, he is sending me 110 copies of More Than A Carpenter to distribute on Wednesday the 13th. How exciting! Please pray for Josh and his family. He has had such a positive impact on my life for many decades.
